Top 5 Sage 100 Inventory Management Extended Solutions
When Sage Software turned over their entire Extended Solutions catalog to the Sage Development Partners, DSD Business Systems made the decision to redevelop, upgrade, and refine these Enhancements to meet DSD Business Systems standards. DSD Business Systems now has over 300 of these Extended Solutions available, for various versions of Sage 100.
In my latest blog series, I am presenting my Favorite Inventory Management Extended Solutions. I’ve found these product solutions to be brilliant ideas that I wish I had thought of first. I’m extremely happy to have them as part of our product portfolio. Below are my Top 5 Inventory Management Extended Solutions (in no particular order):
1) CIDP Six-Decimal Precision and Mask
Although this product actually resides under the Common Information module, it really affects inventory management, distribution, and manufacturing. When Sage originally had this Extended Solutions product, it was actually 10 different solutions. DSD Business Systems has created just one solution for this that works with the IM, PO, SO, AR, BM, and WO modules! This product is essential to companies that need more than four decimal places for Quantity, Cost, Price, and Unit of Measure. With this DSD Business Systems solution, you can now set the decimal precision and mask to six decimal places.
2) IM-1069 Contract Pricing by Valid Date
This DSD Business Systems Extended Solution adds three new options to the Inventory Item Pricing functionality in Sage 100 ERP: Customer/Valid Date, Price Level/Valid Date, and Customer/Price Level/Valid Date. With this solution, you are now able to create multiple price schedules, with expiration dates, for customers and price levels. This is one of our most popular DSD Enhancements!
3) IM-1154 Security by Warehouse
There are a dozen Extended Solutions that enhance User Security, and IM-1154 is one of those. With this enhancement, you have the ability to select which User Codes have access to records for specific warehouses. Users that do not have access to a specific Warehouse Code will not be able to view item information, create invoices, run reports, or access history inquiry for items in that warehouse. This enhancement is ideal for companies with multiple salespersons and locations.
4) IM-1220 Apparel Matrix for Inventory and Sales Order
This DSD Extended Solution enables you to specify an item as a ‘Master’ Item and then to setup a list of ‘Associated’ Items for each Master Item. During Sales Order Entry, as you key in a Master Item, a list of all of its Associated Items will be displayed. You can then quickly enter in quantities to order for each of the Associated Items. Sales Order lines are then populated with the selected items and the associated order quantities.
5) IM-1153 Reorder Information Recalculation Utility
This DSD Extended Solution provides a utility for recalculating the Minimum Order Quantity, Reorder Point and the Maximum On Hand Quantity for each item, based on the item’s Average Monthly Usage (AMU). The AMU is calculated as Sales, Returns, Issues and Transfers of an Item within a warehouse over a specified period. Any item which had reorder information changed as a result of the recalculation process will have its reorder information written to the log file.
